The Rhode Island District Court has issued a new administrative order regarding address verification notifications, effective March 3, 2026. This order replaces the previous Administrative Order 2022-04.

According to the court, any request for a hearing that requires a notice to be generated and mailed by the clerk’s office must now include an address verification form if one year has passed since the last court date or initial filing. The requirement is specifically for cases in which the non-moving party is representing themselves without an attorney.

The address verification form can be found on the Rhode Island Judiciary website under District Court forms at www.courts.ri.gov.

The order was entered by Chief Judge Jeanne E. LaFazia and Administrator Jamie Hainsworth.
