The Rhode Island Board of Bar Examiners announced on March 30 that fifty-six individuals have been certified for admission to the Rhode Island Bar through the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) score transfer process.

This certification is an important step for these applicants, but it does not yet make them eligible to practice law in Rhode Island. The candidates must still be certified by the Committee on Character and Fitness, take the attorney oath, and register with the Supreme Court before they are officially admitted to the bar.

The list includes Julia Anne Arnese, Kathryn Naomi Barber, Ana Barros, Danielle Paden Berend, Seneca Edward Boyer, Lily Anna Burchfield, Kyle Patrick Burgess, Mary Elizabeth Byrne, Isaiah Soutarou Chatman, Alexander John D’Aloisio, Douglas Christopher DeBettencourt, Amanda Joy DiFrancesca, Linjia Feng, Nicholas Robert Fisher, Samantha Lynn Gervasio and Noa Elaine Gutow-Ellis among others. In total there are fifty-six names listed as successful applicants under Article II Rule 1B regarding admission by UBE score transfer.

These candidates represent a range of backgrounds and will join those who have completed other pathways to bar admission once all requirements are fulfilled. Their certification marks progress toward increasing legal representation in Rhode Island.

Applicants must complete all remaining steps before they can begin practicing law in the state.
